Live Carillon Recital, Cobh Co. Cork

Cobh Carrillon

Project Organiser: Adrian Gebruers, Carillonneur, St. Colman’s Cathedral

Live Carillon Recital from St Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh on Sunday 23 August from 4.30 – 5.30 p.m.

The 49-bell Carillon of St Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh is the only such instrument in the Republic and the largest in Ireland and Britain. The carillon is a percussion instrument which is completely touch responsive to give the carillonneur full capability for every musical expression from a gentle whisper to a thundering fortissimo.

If you will not be in Cobh on 23rd August to listen to this wonderfully melodic recital, the video below provides the opportunity to listen to the music, learn about the carillon and the work of carillonneur Adrian Gebruers, St Colman’s Cathedral.
