Project Organisers: Fingal Mummers

The Fingal Mummers will perform the local traditional Mummers play live in the car park of ‘The Village Inn – O’Connors Pub’ in Ballyboughal on Saturday 15th August @ 3:30pm. The play will be followed by music and song. ‘Mumming’ is a masking or masquerade tradition performed by up to 12 people (sometimes more) playing fixed characters each whom has a rhyme particular to that character.

This lively performance will be recorded and will be available to view here after the 15th August.

This project is one of a series supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht to showcase elements of Ireland’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) as part of Heritage Week 2020.
